You were reading in my seat the first time I saw you.
When I glanced at the seating chart
After walking into first-period English
On the first day of the new school year,
I realized your mistake --
The chart was upside down,
And we were next to each other
With you on my right,
Not on my left.
"Excuse me,"
I said as politely as I could,
"I think you're in my seat."
You looked up at me,
Wide-eyed underneath a pair of glasses.
Your face turned red
As you gathered your things,
Mumbled an apology,
And climbed over my chair to get to yours.
You reached for your book

Where to Find Me Comments and Community Questions Personal News Writing has been going very well! I am keeping busy but that "busy" is slowly becoming more things than work. I take time to go outside for walks with the dog or a bike ride. I am journaling more leisurely and am wondering how I will fit my Korean studies into my schedule next. Art too. And my book. Ugh. :dummy: One step at a time! When I write, or when I can't write, journaling is my first go to. An author advised me a few years ago that she would journal for an hour or two before working on her writings. This would get the words flowing and it would be easier to switch to work writing. I always had a hard time
